Snow load on road

If you are planning on driving in, best to pack a shovel to be able to dig dirt from the side of the road to give your vehicle traction under the wheels.

The road has not been plowed and the photo below shows the difficulty of freeing the vehicle.

Incredible display of wet snow on the trees.  It lasted only one day before warming released the wet snow cover.

Lake has a thick layer of slush under the snow.  Waiting to 'eat' snowmobiles without studs.

About 12 inches of powdered snow on the ground.  Snowmobile trails have opened up and lots of traffic on the lake.

After an ice storm, it is recommended to carry a chainsaw and wedge.  Actually, two chainsaws are better since experience shows that they don't always run well in the cold.  Yuk.
